Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 October 2026
Juicy History ("the app", "we", "us") is made by Zhin Goran, a sole trader based in the Netherlands, who is responsible for the processing of your personal data. We collect as little as possible: no accounts, no ads, no tracking across other apps, and we never sell your data.
What we collect and why
| Data | Why | Where it's processed |
|---|---|---|
| Your onboarding answers (for example which topics you like) and preferences such as notification and caption settings | To personalise the app and to understand which stories people want | On your device |
| Your story progress (where you stopped) | So you can continue where you left off | On your device |
| Subscription status and an anonymous app user ID | To unlock the app for subscribers and restore purchases | Apple and RevenueCat |
| Your vote in the weekly story poll | To decide which story we make next. Votes are counted anonymously | Our server (Cloudflare) |
| Messages you send us, plus any name or email you choose to share, and basic technical information (device type, app version, language) | To answer your questions and feedback | Crisp (support chat), or our email inbox |
| Technical request data when stories stream (such as IP address) | To deliver the videos and keep the service secure | Cloudflare |
| A notification token, only if you allow notifications | To tell you when a new story drops or voting opens | Apple Push Notification service |
We don't collect your name, email address, contacts, location, photos or payment details. Payments are handled entirely by Apple; we never see your card details.
Legal basis
We process data because it is needed to provide the app and your subscription (performance of a contract), because we have a legitimate interest in improving the app and answering your messages, or because you gave consent (for notifications, which you can switch off at any time in the app or in your iPhone settings).
Service providers
We use a small number of trusted providers who process data on our behalf: Apple (App Store, payments, notifications), RevenueCat (subscription management), Cloudflare (video streaming, website and vote counting) and Crisp (support chat). Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area; where they do, they use the safeguards required by the GDPR, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep data
Data on your device stays there until you delete the app. Support conversations are kept for as long as needed to help you, and at most 2 years after your last message. Vote counts are kept without any link to you.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to data portability. Email support@juicyhistory.com and we'll respond within one month. You also have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Children
Juicy History is not intended for children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Important changes will also be announced in the app.
